Thanks for your input, and I’m not surprised that the word ‘colored’ bothers some people.

But, I don’t have to refer to myself as anything I don’t want to, and I don’t really like ‘people of color’. I’ve never identified with that word.

So I use ‘people of color’ in a professional context, but when I’m writing for myself, I don’t. I’m fully aware that ‘colored’ is archaic, but I like the ironic, dark history of the word. I find it to be more accurate, since I don’t believe the situation/society that produced the word ‘colored’ has changed significantly. ‘People of color’ feels like a cop-out to me.

I’m fine with making people uncomfortable. I don’t care about political correctness.

You can refer to yourself however you like, though. I don’t mind others using the word toward me either. Their choice.

And, I can delete an app whenever I like, for whatever reasons I like. My choice.
